How We Do It:
WHAT TO EXPECT
Undergoing any facial plastic procedure can be nerve-wracking, especially if you’re new to plastic surgery. Don’t worry, Our compassionate and knowledgeable team will make you feel at home. Here’s how our team at Chen Facial Plastic Surgery will ensure your safety, comfort, and satisfaction throughout the process:
STEP 01
Inquiry & Scheduling
After your inquiry, Meghan, our front office coordinator, will call you to discuss your appointment schedule.
STEP 02
Welcome Email
You will then receive a welcome email introducing you to our practice, staff, and what makes us unique.
STEP 03
Pre-Consultation Call
Before your appointment, Emmy, our patient care coordinator, will call you for a pre-consultation.
She’ll assist you through every step, from the consultation to the surgery and beyond.
STEP 04
Meet Dr. Chen
During the consultation, you’ll meet with Dr. Chen and discuss your concerns and goals with him.
Our team will then take photos of you. We typically use computer software to morph these images and demonstrate potential outcomes.
We also examine before-and-after photos of other patients.
STEP 05
Plan & Book Your Surgery
Dr. Chen will recommend the best treatment for your case and take the time to answer all their questions. Emmy will then discuss finances and scheduling. The surgery is then booked.
STEP 06
Preoperative Appointment
You’ll visit the clinic for a preoperative appointment before the scheduled procedure to ensure you’re ready for surgery and recovery.
During this phase, we’ll continue to address your concerns and questions. We want you to be well-informed and feel confident about your upcoming surgery.
Dr. Chen typically opts for sedation over general anesthesia for cosmetic surgeries. This preferred technique helps patients to wake up quicker and recover more comfortably.
After SURGERY CARE
Dr. Chen will see you the following day in the office or when he visits the aftercare facility where you stay to check on you.
We’ll give you the option to go to an aftercare facility after surgery to help you have the best possible recovery.
During the first week, Emmy will maintain close contact with you to monitor your progress.
Then, a week after surgery, you will have a post-op in-office appointment for suture removal and wound check.
But our dedication to comprehensive care doesn’t end there. We’ll keep in touch with you regularly — typically at intervals of one, three, six, and 12 months post-surgery.
During your recovery, you can discuss any concerns or questions with Dr. Chen anytime by calling or texting him at his phone number.
If any issues come up, Dr. Chen can immediately see, evaluate, and manage them.

Out of Town
PATIENTS
We offer the same services to both local and out-of-town patients.
Emmy, our patient care coordinator, will help you schedule your surgery and plan your post-operative care, including helping you with travel arrangements if needed.
Typically, our out-of-town patients stay a few days at an aftercare facility before transitioning to a hotel.
You’ll usually spend about a week in town after surgery, with a follow-up appointment scheduled one week later before you head home.
