My nasal passages were so blocked that it was difficult for me to breathe. My allergist recommended Dr. Chen. Dr. Chen has an excellent demeanor; he is warm and caring. He is not only extremely knowledgeable, but he explains the problem and the solution clearly. I was nervous about having surgery; however, he calmed all my fears. No question was frowned upon; all concerns were addressed. The surgery went perfectly. I even looked forward to the follow-up exams. I highly recommend Dr. Chen; he is wonderful.

Dr Chen is a surgeon I would recommend in a heartbeat! After complications with a prior surgery elsewhere, he diagnosed two problems (and his partner Dr Wu, a third) that needed to be dealt with and took care of them flawlessly and professionally. Not sure whether his acumen is better or his bedside manner, as both are FIRST RATE! Not only that, he helped me with some sleep and other medical issues within his level of expertise, without extra charge. He was always generous with his time and candid honest medical feedback. I’m actually sad that I will likely not being seeing him again as my year of post-op visits have come to a close. Wish Dr Chen nothing but the best. If you need something he can do for you, don’t hesitate! He’s the man!

In 2017 I had an open septoplasty by Dr Chen. I chose him as my surgeon personally because I had seen his work firsthand. I am an operating room nurse and have worked along side Dr Chen many times. Dr. Chen is the most reliable, compassionate, well-researched and helpful doctor I have. Before I decided I was to treat my deviated septum with him, I set up consultations with two other doctors in the Beverly Hills area and was met with either skepticism or criticism. Dr. Chen came highly recommended by a dear family friend who had had the same surgery I was intending on getting: a septoplasty. Never having surgery before and unaware really of what was going on internally with my nose, I didn’t know what to expect, and naturally was quite anxious. Although, within seconds of meeting him and walking into his office, I was met with amiable and apt knowledge and attentive responses — he knew and addressed the anatomical issue right away and was signed up for my first surgery ever in no time! The surgery itself was quick and straightforward: 30-45 minutes tops, and he and his team were there to reassure me of my worries.

Where do i begin… from our first visit with Dr. Chen my daughter and i both left feeling 110% confident that we trusted Dr. Chen. We interviewed other doctors before meeting him, but it was a no brainer for us after meeting him that he was the one that we wanted to do my daughter’s surgery. He had such great ideas and was so patient in explaining everything to us (and of course he listened and took into account what it was we were wanting to have accomplished). I’ve just completed one year of pre-op, surgery, and post-op with Dr. Chen for a severely deviated septum and recommend him whole-heartedly. I postponed my care for a long time until I finally followed the referral of my ENT to have Dr. Chen perform my much-needed surgery. I’m thrilled to breathe effortlessly, as opposed to my longtime mouth breathing that was causing multiple issues. Over several visits and the actual surgery, I found Dr. Chen to be generous with his time, answering all my questions in a clear and comprehensible way. Great Surgeon and communicates well. Having my FFS (Facial Feminization Surgery) with him has been great. Aside from having to wait for approval letters from insurance (not his fault) It has been a great experience overall. Dr. Henry Chen is the most down to earth when talking to him. I have social anxiety so talking to people is scary, let alone trying to ask or say anything about surgery. However, he makes you feel safe that you have no problem conveying what you need.

Dr. Chen performed nasal surgery on me to correct an issue that had been bothering me for years and he did a fantastic job. He was very thorough and explained all options and very professional. All follow up visits were great. Highly recommended him.

I scheduled a procedure with Dr. Chen in 2021 and spent several years on a waiting list. He just cancelled my surgery three months out with no warning. He made no effort to reschedule me, help me find a different provider, or help me keep my date with someone else. His office had confirmed the surgery date as recently as August and March of 2023. This behavior shows contempt for patients and I would not trust my body to anyone this careless or unkind. You deserve better.

Update: 11/13/23: Dr. Chen’s response is not true. His staff did not provide contact information for any other providers and insisted they could not help with scheduling or continuity of care. The scheduler offered to call me back on Friday, November 3 but that has not happened as of this writing.

I need to be able to talk more than 30 seconds!! Lol he is a phenomenal doctor, unbelievably talented and has given me the dream. I am happy and confident and stronger than ever, and it started with him. He took excellent care of me and transformed me into beautiful California girl.

I saw Dr. Chen at the recommendation of my dermatologist for repair of my lip. I had Bell’s Palsy over 24 years ago with resultant nerve damage on one side of my face. The most noticeable lasting effect was that one side of my lower lip looked perpetually swollen.

Dr. Chen took a very conservative approach (which I thought was great) and first removed extra tissue in that part of my lip. He told me that the tissue retracts and if he did too much, I might be unhappy with the results. After that healed, I asked for a little more work on it, which he agreed to do. At the time he did a resection if the lip. I knew from the beginning that it might be a two-step process.

The result is twofold. Yes, there is the cosmetic one in which I am not as asymmetrical looking in photos, but it is also easier to eat on that side of my mouth since there is more room at the gum area. I would tend to avoid that side when I ate,which actually affects wear and tear on the teeth. I am thrilled with the results!

So that’s the medical side. On the bedside manner part, Dr. Chen is perfect. And his office staff is amazing. Hard to find nicer people.
